Launched in 1991, Erdinger Dunkel beer (Erdinger Dark) has a higher gravity and alcohol content. It has a slight chocolatey taste and aroma but still retains a refreshingness.

Tasting: a light, powdery chocolate nose with some spice, and a silky palate of caramel and milk chocolate, with a smoky hint.

Food Pairings: Curried and German Cuisine, Nutty Cheese (Asiago, Colby, Parmesan), Digestive, Salmon.

The Erdinger Festweisse is brewed all-naturally, using traditional bottle-fermentation, never pasteurized.
Erdinger's wheat beer offering for the traditional Oktoberfest period is slightly stronger than the normal Weiss at 5.7% abv. It still retains a clean, soft flavour but with perhaps more subtle spiciness and fruit.
