St Austell Admirals Ale is a premium bottle-conditioned ale that has been uniquely brewed using our own Cornish Gold malt. Locally grown barley is traditionally malted using a special kilning process which develops a deeper intensity of colour and flavour than ordinary barley malt. Blended with both Styrian Golding and Cascade hops, the result is a deep bronze ale with a delicious rich biscuit flavour and a wonderful spicy aroma.Colour: deep goldTasting: nutty malt and tropical fruit on the nose and the palate. Pleasant barley flavours and hoppy crispness throughout. St Austell Proper Job is an authentic Indian Pale Ale (IPA) brewed with Cornish spring water and malt made from a blend of malts including Cornish grown Maris Otter barley. Colour: pale goldTasting : Fresh citrus fruits on the nose: orange peel, grapefruit and lime .Deep citrus flavours on the palate, especially grapefruit, from the abundant hops, with just a little restraining malt. The excessive fruitiness of the hops seems to add a touch of sweetness. More sweet hop character finish. Long lasting and full of citrus.Did you know?Proper Job is dedicated to the 32nd (Cornwall) Regiment who stoutly defended their garrison during the Indian Mutiny in 1857-58. Throughout the siege the traditional "Sunset Ceremony" (beating the retreat and lowering the national flag) was ignored as an act of defiance to the mutineers. In recognition of a "Proper Job" Queen Victoria awarded the 32nd the honour.
